The Portuguese Escudo is a historical symbol of Portugal's history.  The red and green enamel details within this emblem represent various cultural elements, such as the five chevrons that represent the five Moorish kings defeated by King Afonso Henriques at Batalha de Ourique, the celestial sphere, a symbol of the Age of Discovery and Portugal's role as a maritime and exploratory power in the XV and XVI centuries. Finished with a nice size bail, perfect to fit any chain.
